A showcase of the new Frictionless Bar concept being piloted by Levy in Birmingham: a seamless, cashless bar experience redefining event hospitality.
Levy, the sports and entertainment hospitality provider, commissioned Airframe Media to produce a showcase video for their Frictionless Bar concept during its pilot phase in Birmingham. The Frictionless Bar is a cashless, contact-free bar experience designed to eliminate queues and reduce wait times at large-scale events — a significant operational innovation in the hospitality sector. The brief required a film that would communicate the concept clearly to Levy's internal stakeholders and venue partners, demonstrating both the technology and the guest experience in a real-world pilot setting. Pre-production involved a site walkthrough to plan camera positions that would capture the bar's flow without disrupting live service. On the shoot day, our crew deployed a two-camera setup: a primary camera on a gimbal for smooth tracking shots following the guest journey from approach to pour, and a secondary locked-off camera capturing wide establishing angles of the full bar in operation. Cinematography focused on three visual narratives: the speed and efficiency of the transaction flow, the quality and presentation of the drinks, and the natural social energy of guests enjoying the space. Close-up detail shots of the cashless payment interface and the bar's digital ordering screens were integrated to communicate the technology layer without feeling like a product demo. In post-production, the edit was paced to mirror the experience itself — opening with wide shots establishing the venue context, moving through the approach and order process at a deliberate walkthrough pace, then accelerating into quick cuts of drinks being poured and guests reacting, before settling into a lifestyle montage of the bar in full flow. Colour grading preserved the venue's ambient lighting while ensuring skin tones and product shots remained natural and appealing. The finished film has been used by Levy's marketing team as a stakeholder communications asset, presenting the Frictionless Bar pilot results to venue partners and demonstrating the operational and experiential benefits of the concept.
