Festival filming in London

Airframe Media films festivals and large outdoor events in London for organisers, venues and promoters. We film the stages, the crowd, the grounds and the atmosphere across the days, then edit the footage into a main film, a teaser and clips for social media. Crew and kit are scoped to the site, the number of days and the footage you need.

ExCeL London September Update

Related event coverage, not a festival. This 1 minute 18 second film for ExCeL London moves from the Royal Docks into live scenes on the show floor, including a fire performance. It shows how we film live performance and a moving crowd.

Pricing

Every job is quoted on what it needs

We do not publish a headline price for this work, because two jobs of the same type rarely need the same crew, kit or edit. Send the brief and we will quote it.

How Airframe pricing works
Number of days
A single afternoon and a full weekend are different jobs. We quote against the days and hours you need covered.
Site and stages
The size of the grounds and the number of stages decide how many places we need to be at once.
Crew and cameras
More stages and a larger crowd need more people and more cameras than a single main stage.
Permissions
Filming crowds, artists and traders needs the organiser, the promoter and the performers to agree what can be used.
Outdoor logistics
Access, power, weather plans and set-up times on an open site all shape the schedule and the kit.
Edit versions
A main film, a teaser for next year and clips for each stage are separate pieces of work.
Turnaround
If you want a teaser while the festival is still running, tell us when you ask, because it changes the crew.

How it works

From brief to delivery

  1. Send the brief

Tell us the festival, the site, the dates and what the film is for. Share the site map and the line-up if you have them.

  2. Agree permissions and access

We check with the organiser what we can film, where we can stand and which acts and areas need separate agreement.

  3. Plan the coverage

We choose between following the headline acts, the crowd, the food and craft areas and the feel of the site, and we agree camera positions.

  4. Film across the days

The crew covers the site to the plan and stays ready for the moments that only happen once.

  5. Edit, review and deliver

You see the edit, give notes and receive the agreed versions in the formats you asked for.

Turnaround is agreed in the quote against your dates

Questions

Questions people ask before they book

How many cameras do you need to film a festival?

It depends on the site. One main stage can be covered with a small team. Several stages, a large crowd and roaming coverage need more cameras and people. We agree the number with you when we quote.

Can you film the performances?

Yes, where the organiser, the promoter and the performers agree. Rights to film and use a set differ from act to act, so we ask for the agreements in the brief and plan around what is cleared.

Can you deliver a teaser while the festival is still running?

A teaser during the festival can be quoted when you need it for social media. It needs an editor working alongside the crew. Tell us the deadline and the platforms, and we confirm what is realistic for the site.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We plan for it. Kit is protected, the schedule has room to move and the coverage plan names the indoor and covered areas. Rain and low light can add character to a festival film when they are planned for.

Do you need permission to film festival-goers?

The organiser normally sets the terms for filming the crowd, often through signs at the entrance and in the ticket terms. We follow those terms and ask for them in the brief. Close interviews with individuals are agreed on the day.

How much does festival filming cost?

We quote each festival on its own requirements, so there is no headline price. The days, the site, the number of stages, the crew and cameras, the permissions, the edit versions and the turnaround all shape the quote. Send the brief on WhatsApp or read how our pricing works.

Can you film a festival that runs over several days?

Yes. Multi-day coverage is planned so the crew can rest and the footage stays organised. We quote the days and hours you need and can cover the busiest periods with more people.
