Dynamic coverage of the ExCeL London media team in action, capturing the energy behind world-class events.
ExCeL London is the UK's largest exhibition centre, hosting 400+ events and 4 million visitors annually across 100,000 square metres of pillar-free event space. Their in-house media team produces hundreds of videos a year — event walkthroughs, exhibitor testimonials, pre-show promotional trailers, and post-event highlight films. Airframe Media was embedded with the ExCeL media team for a week-long production sprint covering three concurrent events: a medical device conference in the Platinum Suite, a consumer tech expo in the main halls, and a black-tie awards dinner in the ICC Auditorium. The brief was to produce live-action event coverage while simultaneously filming behind-the-scenes content of the media team themselves — a B-roll library the team could draw on for recruitment, internal presentations, and capability-showcase reels for prospective exhibitors. We deployed two camera teams: one following the media unit with a Sony FX3 on a DJI RS4 gimbal for discreet, low-footprint BTS capture, the other covering the live events with an FX6 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 for stage and audience work. The shoot generated 4.2 TB of 4K XAVC-I footage over five days. Deliverables included three 90-second event reels, a 2-minute team-capability film, and a 30-second social cut for ExCeL's LinkedIn page. The team-capability film is now the centrepiece of ExCeL's media-services page on their website.
