South Lodge: Exclusive Collection

South Lodge is a five-star country house hotel in the South Downs, part of the Exclusive Collection portfolio alongside Pennyhill Park, Lainston House, and The Manor House. The brief was a cinematic showcase film for the hotel's redesigned website, capturing architecture, interiors, grounds, dining, and the surrounding Sussex landscape across two shoot days. Day one covered interiors: the restored Victorian drawing room, the Camellia restaurant (one Michelin star at time of filming), the wine cellar, and four suite categories from classic double to the top-end Junior Suite with views across the South Downs. We shot interiors on a Sony FX6 with a Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 for wide architectural coverage and a 50mm f/1.4 for detail work on room dressing, table settings, and texture. Day two was exteriors and aerial: the 93-acre grounds, the walled garden, the croquet lawn, and a morning mist sequence over the lake shot from a DJI Mavic 3 Cine at sunrise (CAA GVC-licensed operation within the estate's controlled-access airspace). Aerial capture was 5.1K ProRes 422 HQ at 24fps for the wide landscape passes and 60fps for the slow-motion flyover of the main house. The 2-minute hero film was graded in DaVinci Resolve with a warm, desaturated palette referencing the hotel's existing stills photography, and delivered as ProRes 422 HQ master plus H.264 web optimised and vertical 9:16 cutdown for Instagram. The film now plays on the hotel's homepage and is used across the Exclusive Collection's central marketing channels.
